FireDragon Librewolf fork 🐉

So it turns out I'm also part of the locked out people :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Nothing really changed on the settings part since a longer time which is why I suspect GitLab changing something  I do remember signing in a few days ago without issues.
As a temporary workaround,

sudo mv /usr/lib/firedragon/firedragon.cfg /usr/lib/firedragon/firedragon.cfg.bak

Then logging in,

sudo mv /usr/lib/firedragon/firedragon.cfg.bak /usr/lib/firedragon/firedragon.cfg

and then restarting the browser works.

I don't have the time to figure out what settings is responsible for this right now though, if someone wants to give it shot I'm grateful. (commenting setting, restarting browser, retrying)

So the latest update added container tabs right... Cause I don't remember adding them myself

Anyone figured out how to force bookmarks to open in specific containers? Seems even the firefox addons can't force it...

They've been there for a few versions now :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I'm surprised they don't have an "open in new container tab" option on right click like they do with the open tabs. Right now you have to open a new blank container tab and then click the bookmark.

This exists in addons but it goes at the very bottom of the context menu which is utterly useless…Definitely just need the ability to assign containers to bookmarks

Edit: Firefox Multi-Account Containers – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US) This can do it at a site-level (e.g. reddit → personal)

btw ... you guys are still locked out of gitlab, right ?

do you recommend turning the computer clocks back to when it was working? :stuck_out_tongue:

I was thinking of sending them my fingerprint in the mail.

Good luck and good health to all! Tell me how to change the theme in FireDragon? In the browser settings, I change the theme to light, but the pages are still displayed in dark color. How do I make pages in this browser appear in a light color? I've changed a lot of topics, it doesn't help. I apologize if the text is not particularly clear, I use an online translator.

Look for the addon called Dark Reader and disable/remove it
And welcome as well

Thank you very much. I 've been racking my head for three days

So on the gitlab issue - this happens on GNU IceCat too. So this might be something they have against mozilla forks in general

GNU Icecat probably has anti-fingerprinting enabled as well I assume :eyes: sadly it's really nothing that can be fixed by me. I'm quite happy that it only affects login and not actual usage of GitLab
Edit: there is an issue about it on GitLabs issue tracker

There is a particularly interesting new change which will be available in the currently building version :eyes:
Firefox accounts are back - instead of using Mozillas servers the data will be synced to our selfhosted syncserver though (https://ffsync.garudalinux.org). For those who do not like the change, the firedragon.overrides.cfg contains the changed values :dragon:

any chance you can put together a firedragon for android that we can side load?

That would be sweet.

I commend the addition of the sync feature to Garuda's servers, but I still need to sync my android and tablet.

Unless someone decides to step in and help out, chances are quite low since I don't have any particular interest in learning how to build android applications right now. There are other forks out there like Mull (privacy) or Iceraven (generally more features) which are doing the job quite well though! Here, it's also possible to change the syncing url to the Garuda one so that shouldn't be an issue - I'm using Iceraven myself
@RodneyCK you can most likely do the same on your tablet :eyes:

So Iceraven lets you change the sync URL?

I was using Fennec to sync with Firefox before I made the move to Brave. If Iceraven lets me change the url, I might make a switch then.

Edit to add: I found Iceraven, you have to get it via Fdroid > FFUpdater for android…BUT… you can’t change the sync url. Oh well. I stick to Brave for now.

That one has a bunch of decent browsers. I’ve been using Bromite, a very clean chromium with its own adblock

Yeah, I am usually all over Fdroid, but I missed this app. It is a keeper. :+1:

Hurray gitlab likes us again
I can now login regularly with the hardened configs of Firedragon!

Type about:config in the address bar and create a new value :eyes:

This was supposedly fixed a while ago
