The address bar flipping like that was a bug in the floorp beta back in june. I only had it when i set it to the bottom though. They were aware of it but i guess it wasn’t fixed.
Is it possible to change the behavior when closing the last tab, from reopening the new tab page to closing the browser?
I think this setting in about:config can do it:
browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab
Floorp hasn’t updated for me, so IDK.
Also, what exactly does FD/Floorp check for knowing which version a profile was created in? I restored a snapshot and don’t care for the loss of favorites or history.
You mean a pop-up that shows when you try to load a previous version of FD and it says your profile has been created with a newer version?
That is either Floorp or Firefox and it is for some major version updates, cuz you can update from say 12.1 to 12.2 and go back to 12.1 and it won’t pop-up.
I have no idea how it works.
Hmm, I am able to change the setting to true, but after one close and reopen it changes back to false.
Ha!! That’s probably cuz it is forced somewhere.
You may need to delete your pref.js file inside your profile folder. But keep a copy! It will probably affect a few other things but usually it’s minor.
You can also add it to your firedragon.overrides.cfg inside your ~/.firedragon folder. You can use firedragon.cfg as a template but delete everything past (and including) this line
defaultPref("firedragon.cfg.version", "2025-02-09"); // --> FIREDRAGON CONFIG
Read section FUNCTIONS OF CONFIG FILE it explains how to set settings. Sometimes you need to force settings.
You can also create a new Profile and test if the setting resets on relaunch if you don’t want to delete your pref.js.
This is an issue with Floorps Workspace implementation, they force browser.tags.closeWindowWitLastTab and implement their own logic: Floorp/src/apps/main/core/common/workspaces/workspacesTabManager.tsx at 481c0db03c53e8487981b759e274439e2ec8fab6 · Floorp-Projects/Floorp · GitHub
Thanks for clarifying. I’ll just bite it and move the mouse slightly to the left ![]()
I confirm, that works, thanks!
This works now, thank you!
@stefanwimmer128
It´s working as expected now. Thank you very much for your work ![]()
Can there be a bump to 12 for the nix pkg, though I’m fine waiting forever, as I do like my work spaces in the side bar.
Someone tried porting it and well, we don’t have a nixpgs Deno fetcher ![]()
Ah that makes since, I can stick to the app images.
Yes, a valid alternative for sure. If anything of the shared libs miss, appimage-launcher will help, or nix-ld.

I have a bug where after a few minutes of browsing, the “hamburger” menu doesn’t appear on click, and the downloads drop-down appears to the right outside the browser window instead of right under the button. Changing the window size a few times usually restores the intended behavior, but it quickly bugs out again.
FireDragon 12.3.0 on Dragonized
Just a small observation from my end about HDR and FD12.
Actually if you enable HDR support in the browser, it can play HDR videos, and it works! I was surprised.
But the back draw is that any non-HDR video will not play, it will be green with audio only.
Honestly, we are so close to have fully working SDR + HDR browser like never before ![]()
Fire Dragon is such a champ but I wish the dark reader would work properly because youtube on light mode before changing manually to dark mode is rough o-o
