Everytime gnome X11 goes to sleep it crashes the gui

I recently installed the gnome DE because KDE was giving me problems however I have this weird issue where every time it goes to sleep and then woken up the gui freezes for a few seconds then gnome crashes.
Due to another issue i cant seem to start wayland sessions.

XSession resets when computer goes to sleep

Hi, Since the last update I’ve been experiencing an “Xorg dump crash” and the session resets almost every time the computer goes to sleep.
