Running chromium
(in my install coming not from the chromium
package but from the ungoogled-chromium
one) from terminal prints just this one line:
/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.73: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Well package icu
is at 74.2-1
(perhaps because either yesterday’s dotnet
install or this morning’s update run made it so, or it was before, dunno) but so what? The info of what packages depend on it is clearly known in package-repo land, why would the .so.73
version of it just be wiped?
Here’s the current garuda-inxi

Coming from a rolling-but-non-Arch distro where this sort of thing hasn’t happened (to me) in 6 years, I’m stumped tbh — what the heck does one do in this situation? Go to the last file-system snapshot from whatever-long-ago install ran last before the one that broke things, and lose all the stuff that one did in one’s FS in-between? Go on a Silent Retreat for a month, waiting for all icu dependents to catch up (except meanwhile icu itself comes around with another sweet new update)?
