Why is it so problematic to change the entire theme of the DR460Nized edition;
is it not possible to provide a few additional global themes for Garuda Linux & if you don’t like the colorful surface, just switch to one of the others?
I’m looking forward to the answers: Wink:
PS.: i did the same post in the german subforum for better understanding
Same old story in my opinion
If you really want to play a lot with themes (not just change a few colors or fonts here and there, but make deep, comprehensive changes, as I understand) without “restrictions” (possible constraints from the edition settings) you’d better start from KDE Lite.
You can “un-Dr460nize” KDE by uninstalling the garuda-dr460nized package and removing the settings which it provides. It’s more complicated than just changing the theme, but if you are feeling up to it you can follow along with the guidance here:
No matter which themes we would select, it will still not be “the” themes that some people would want and they will anyway end up changing everything. Therefore it makes the efforts much less valuable.
Normally you don’t “compromise” a system with theming.
The Dr460nized and other editions come with a very consistent set of theme selections.
In my opinion you can only loose this consistency…
