Dr460nized KDE... lost Dr460nized theme for GTK after system update

After updating my system (garuda-update) all my GTK apps are white and making my eyes bleed profusely.

Setting dark mode in per app settings has no effect either.

Please send help… this is killing me.

I’m seeing the same issue. The sweet-dark GTK Theme doesn’t show up anymore in settings.

Which version of the package do you have installed?

Yeah I know it should be there. I have plasma5-themes-sweet-full-git@r390.48a9050-1 installed, if that helps.

pacman -Qi plasma5-themes-sweet-full-git
Name : plasma5-themes-sweet-full-git

If you still have issues after that go to Get New an get the “new sweet” theme as the dev updated it. im not sure if its ben changed in the aur pkg or not.

Then pick it from the list an you should be good. might need to reopen the affected apps.

How did you get this “GNOME/GTK Application Style” setting? I have never had any such thing on my system. I only have “Application Style”, which used to affect both QT and GTK, but no longer does.

Is there a way I can install this?

In System Settings > Colors & Themes > Application Style, then you click on the top right button that says “Configure GNOW/GTK Application Style…”

It’s been like that for a while, at least as far back as I can remember on KDE 5.

OMG thank you. I’ve never seen that before on my system because the button wasn’t there. I had to drag the window wide to make it appear.

I did have Sweet in the drop down menu and selected it and applied, and now my dark theme is back.

Do you see “Sweet-Dark” in the list? That’s the one the Dr460nized theme is trying to set by default.

In fact, I do not. Only Sweet…

It fixed my dark mode problem though. But that makes sense why changing the Application Style doesn’t work for both anymore, if Sweet-Dark is no longer a thing.

I had the same problem of unset gtk theme and “Sweet” also helped me to get dark theme back (and icons).

I have little more themes but that is probably dependent on packages You have installed
Zrzut ekranu_20241023_194130

Yeah it should be. Unless you uninstalled the package I mentioned in the thread with SGS, the theme files for it are still there. I even tried a full “garuda-update remote fix” and resintalled the package, just in case something weird might have happened with my install and it’s still not loading. I don’t know why it’s working for SGS.

@ruptotus hey thanks for the share. I was following the other thread as well. Nice to see we’re all in the same boat.

I’ll keep an eye on it for the next few days and see if it starts to load again after an update. It’s not the first time I’ve seen this happen. Maybe keep an eye on it too and switch back if you see it show up?

I think I might have tracked it down.

Old build system had an interfere in place:

New one does not. So there are differences between file paths. Will look into resetting it to the way it way before.

Edit: done.

https://builds.garudalinux.org/logs/logs.html?timestamp=1729750926772&id=plasma5-themes-sweet-full-git

Unfortunately, it is the same version because it is a git package, so anyone who changed it manually should reinstall the package after syncing mirrors (will get an invalid signature error, just repeat the process - its because of the invalid cached package). Anyone else won’t notice anything, however.

I resolved the original GTK error by selecting Sweet-Dark in the GTK Settings. But I would like the revised Plasma5 Theme as above. I tried a reinstall but it has failed multiple times

Do you want to delete it? [Y/n]

I used Pacman -Syu & Pacman -Syyu

Just for added context, I have three close PC’s, Daily Driver with KDE Dr460nized, this one which won’t update. And two running Garuda Hyprland which I had ignored the update. Now they have both been updated they are OK.
‘Two out of three aint bad’

Is it me???

If it helps I also tried a reinstall with Octopi. I wouldn’t normally use Octopi because I use Pacman and Yay now. This is Octopi’s output.

Command finished OK!

I got the same issue. I’ve opened an issue on the Chaotic-AUR github repo. Even with a cleared pacman cache, can’t sync it.

This is not a bug, you simply type Y to delete the package from your pacman folder and then re-issue the same command paru -S plasma5-themes-sweet-full-git.
