Davinci Resolve keypresses are blocked / not registered

Hi I just installed davinci resolve through the davinci resolve website and ran the installer. At first Davinci wouldnt open, due to some unsupported packaged, so i found this guide on how to fix that: Blackmagic Forum • View topic - DaVinci Resolve will not Launch on Linux

That fixed one issue, but now I have another. When open davinci and create a new project, I can give the project a name with my physical keyboard. Note that this is done outside of the ig studio window. When I open the project and lets say add a video, then want to remove it by clicking on it and pressing backspace my keypress is not recognized. The same goes for when I want to rename anything in the studio window. I am using the dr460nized kde desktop environment and the tool window up top contains an option for search. When i click this and start typing my keyboard inputs are recognized, but as still not in the studio window.
Additionally when I try to use Resolve as a floating window, I can not resize it.
Lastly any super (meta / windows) keypresses / keybinds dont do anything if Resolve is my focussed application.

I believe there might be an issue with how the program is being opened. If i try to launch Resolve as sudo, I get an error stating the program is not found, however I can still open it from the apps overview, just not terminal.

I was unable to find any other people with the same issue as me. There was one guy who ran Resolve as sudo to fix a problem with keypresses and / or audio, but this remains unresolved: DaVinci Resolve - Either keypresses won't work or audio won't work

If there is any additional information or logs I should provide please let me know.

P.s. I at first tried to use Octopi to install Resolve, but that took 2,5h. I probably did something wrong there as well. Anyone else got this insanely long installation from Octopi?

Edit: no programs’ main windows seem to be recognizing keypresses if Resolve is open, tho the super key did work after first opening the app overview and then closing it with super.

It is not a good idea to install applications from a website on Arch/Archbased Linux distributions. Almost all available applications can be found in the official repositories or in the AUR (Arch User Repository).

And this idea is even worse…

davinci-resolve is in the AUR, you already found it there via octopi:

This has nothing to do with octopi - it takes so long because it is not a precompiled binary, but because it is compiled/built from the source code.

We generally advise against using gui tools like octopi to install packages (but they are good for searching). To install packages you should generally use pacman in the terminal, or an AUR-helper like paru to install AUR packages.

You should first try the AUR version and check if it works better than the version from the website:

paru -S davinci-resolve

And if you are using wayland, switch to an x11 session (login screen → button bottom left) and check if davinci-resolve works without isues.

When I run

Which if it’s looking on my local machine makes sense as that file isn’t there, but if I’m not mistaken this is looking on the AUR servers(?).
