Any chance 64gram can get a QT 6.7.0 rebuild.

Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (6.7.0) with this library (6.7.1)

On the way!

It’s RUDE to force peeps to go to another site just to know what the item is. Always has been RUDE to do so.

Right clicking to check what it is is also a thing if you are that concerned, I suppose? No need to call out people for that in this manner :upside_down_face:

if you hover over the link you not only don’t have to open it but you can also immediately see the package name…

I see no problem here :person_shrugging:

I suppose it was unnecessary to hide the link behind fancy markdown formatting?

I agree with @Locutus ! I don’t know his reason, but mine is that it creates an additional motion that is uncomfortable for me to physically perform. Posting the app’s full name would have told me what I needed to know with a glance. In future, I’m going to ensure my own posted links are fully exposed.

megasync works, can you add it to chaotic-aur?
It’s the aur/megasync 5.2.1.0-1 [+381 ~2.08]

No, I’ve dropped it intentionally in

It will definitely return when upstream moves to Qt6 per

I’ve just asked megasync for a timeframe here, watch this issue:

Hello,
I would like to request adding the GUI drivers for the Canon Color imageCLASS MF654Cdw printer to the chaotic-aur, the package can be found at: https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/color-imageclass-mf654cdw
I could not find an AUR pkg of this driver that supports my printer model, not sure if that will be an issue.

The package in the AUR is from 2 versions ago (v570) AUR (en) - ufrii-print

You might need a more recent driver for your printer, since the page you listed only shows version 5.80 and 5.90, but you could always try I guess? If you need the version to be recent in the AUR, you can try to contact the maintainer of the package (check the link’s comments for more info).

sadly that is the 644, not the 654 printer, I did try doing a debtap of the debian driver to compile an arch one, but i got lots of dependency related issues that popped up in the terminal about how they could not be translated into arch package names. I have little clue if what i tried doing would even work. I am still fairly new at this, a windows refugee is what I am. Only reason I care about the gui pkg is im acting as an admin for my mother’s new laptop here, despite everything working out of the box (thx Linux Kernel & Cups) she wants that fancy gui reminiscent of the one she had on her ancient iMac.

I would give it a shot anyway–oftentimes printer drivers will work if they are “close enough”. If it doesn’t work you can just uninstall it.

paru -S ufrii-print

There are the same kind of drivers (poke around on the other page yourself and you will see ). They require the same kind of driver pack; the proprietary UFRII drivers from Canon, for Canon multi-function printers. (they are for multiple models)

Even the 644 printer page only list the 2 latest versions . I guess the download page just does that in general? :person_shrugging: Either way, worth a shot to try them considering that is the case.

kinda newbish of me, first time using paru, I only use stuff from chaotic, im getting a prompt in terminal “makedepends=(‘jbigkit’ ‘gzip’ ‘gtk3’)” the prompt offers nothing with choices, not sure how to proceed. I mostly use Octopi, which only has Chaotic by default.

You may be in the PKGBUILD review. Press Q to get out of it and proceed with the installation.

I agree they should make it more obvious how to get on with it.

My suggestion would be be set EVERYTHING for her so she no longer has a need for a printer. Reality this day and age it is a rare occasion when a printer is actually necessary.

Hello
