Try updating your AUR stuff by running

paru

If it is still broken, you can try rebuilding your packages which I believe is

paru --rebuild

You can specify your package or choose "all".

thanks again @BluishHumility? I did actually remember to hit "q" to proceed with the AUR, Although, i am at a new crossroads that i do not yet have the required mojo to continue down the Arched road... ? PrivateBin

this is my "Linux class compliant" Audio-Interface called an AudioFuse and it is the original version... Arturia AudioFuse i have had issues with it since the beginning of buying it and shipping it from France, where on the journey it was damaged in shipping... the company that shipped it elected to repair it in their own facilities in USA "Sweetwater Music" but it still was not right.... so it is what i have to work with for the foreseeable future... I do not know if their is a way to use the "Control Center" computer software without a virtual box of some kind which i have never attempted as of yet...

[🔴] × paru --rebuild butt

1 aur/butt 0.1.34-1 [+13 ~0.01] [Installed]
Easy to use, multi OS streaming tool
:: Packages to install (eg: 1 2 3, 1-3):
:: q
there is nothing to do

I think you almost had it here, just paru was asking you which package to rebuild (there are 133 hits for "butt" because every package with the word "button" comes up). You want to say "1" to identify your package--but you pressed "q" which quit the program.

After you choose the package, paru will show you the code to review--then you hit "q", to get out of the review process and build the package.

Did you try rebuilding the package? It looks like you just took an update and tried running it again.

i did... i was in process of copy/pasting but hit enter by accident so resorted to editing... but to make a virtually long story short... it did not work and im not sure where i went wrong yet again...

Can you post the output from paru --rebuild butt so we can take a peek?

You can try to completely uninstall and reinstall and hope for better luck.

Uninstall:

sudo pacman -Rcns butt

paru butt

Have you considered shopping around for a different tool for this task? If you could find a package that's in one of the repos (instead of AUR) it would be less of a hassle to maintain and might end up causing you less grief.

yes i have looked for a long time for an alternative but the only programs i can find that have live streaming capabilities is VLC , OBS & MIXXX but Top 5 Live Streaming Applications for Ubuntu and Other Linux [2023 Edition] they too have eluded me in giving these abilities… here is the final output link —> Garuda's PrivateBin

Forgive me in advance because I have no clue about any of this software, but what do you need that OBS doesn't have? I was looking through their website a little bit and it appears to be a robust, feature-full program.

Tons of options and settings, frankly a bit much to even look at:

You can set up hotkeys, preview your streams, all kind of stuff. Features I would never even think of.

It looks a bit much, to be fair--there would probably be a learning curve. Crucially, however, it is in the community repository and won't be broken half the time you need to use it.

You can even install a Flatpak, if you wanted a sandboxed version of it--just to make sure it will survive your updates. :man_shrugging:

I'm sure you have your reasons for preferring the BUTT software, and I do acknowledge that I am speaking from a position of no experience, but this does look like a much more reliable solution--at least as a backup, so you don't have to cancel a performance due to a casually-maintained piece of software from the AUR having a meltdown.
