@BluishHumility Please help!

@BluishHumility

I tried repplying on the old topic but I believe you closed it because I dont see a reply button.

https://forum.garudalinux.org/t/garuda-install-black-screen-right-after-welcome-to-grub-message-50-tries/44524

Please re-open it, or respond here what ever is easier for you. I want to try Garuda if you know what I did wrong.

You suggested me to look at the installation instructions. which I did. I might have missed something in the download instructions page maybe?

Official Installation Procedure:

[yes]Enter bios settings…
[yes]Disable fast boot and secure boot and delete secure boot keys if any
[yes]tried UEFI and Legacy, CSM on and off
[yes]tried rufus, balena, and ventoy
[yes]Boot from the USB drive.
[yes]I dont use RAID mode on this machine, so yeah AHCI is what it was at.

After booting from USB, nothing, no options, no grub2 options, zero options jst a black screen.

Did I miss anything?
Because I can not see the initial menu.
As soon as I see the welcome to grub message, it goes black thats it, no text, no menu, no grub2, no options whats so ever.

Please let me know if I did something wrong or if I missed something.

Thank you.

Hi @xetal.
Unfortunately, all your posts do not meet the minimum requirements for getting help here in the forum.

Yes, the topic was closed for discussion because you said you were going to throw in the towel and try again in a few years:

If you aren’t going to use Garuda Linux, nothing to troubleshoot and no reason to leave the discussion open. Not for nothing, but “I tried installing Garuda but gave up” is not a topic that provides much value for the forum.

Yes you did, you missed the grub2 option. :wink:

The grub2 option is in not in the live environment, it is in Ventoy (before you boot the ISO). This is an old picture from some random site on the internet but it looks something like this:

If you don’t have this option, you need to update Ventoy itself. See this article here: Get start . Ventoy
