Alienware area 51m r1 keyboard

Hi

need help to deal with keyboard - it is always backlit and won’t switch off the leds.

how to control it?

installed latest MOKKA setup, KDE desktop environment.

The OpenRGB controls all other leds, but not keyboard leds

Can’t install AlienFX from AUR as python-future failed to be compiled

Try this smbios-keyboard-ctl.
And please always provide your garuda-inxi as required by the topic template.

Hi,

I have the Alienware TactX Keyboard but didnt find any solution on Arch Linux. I had it here in a Topic too. I have a Dualboot with Windows on another Harddrive and use then the Control Center for Backlight or Color changing. It is saved to the Keyboard so my settigs or colors are there when i use Garuda . Hope someone have a idea with your Keyboard. :wink:

may be, someone can help to install AlienFX?

Make sure en_GB and hy_AM are enabled (search them in the file and remove the # comment, if present) in:
/etc/locale.gen
And re-generate locales:

sudo locale-gen

Seems, the
smbios-keyboard-ctl -i

This means a reboot is pending.
Maybe it will help…

how to patch build file in the Octopi?

they recommend to add this

prepare() {
  cd "$srcdir"/future-$pkgver
  find . -type f -name "*.*" -exec sed -i 's|lib2to3|fissix|g' {} +
}

but I don’t know how to edit build files in the Octopi

Try the manual build:

git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/python-future.git
cd python-future

Change the PKGBUILD file as needed

makepkg -sri

it worked, but, unfortunately, AlienFX doesn’t affect on keyboard

Seems that is the solution

Please edit all your posts with terminal text, like the template explained.

  • Format terminal output (including your garuda-inxi) as a code block by clicking the preformatted text button (</>) , or put three tildes (~) above and below the text

And as long as no one has responded to your post, you can edit your last post.

Thank you.
