"Your browser is not currently supported." when logging into Twitch on Firedragon

Hello! Searched everywhere, there was an old suggestion to add twitch to privacy.resistFingerprinting.exemptedDomains, but it doesn’t work anymore. A week ago I was able to login on a private tab, but now it refuses to do it even there. I removed all the extensions from private and it still didn’t work.

Any suggestions?

I could make some guesses, but maybe it would be appropriate to name the browser you’re referring to?

I’m blind…I was only looking at the text. Sue me
Though that was my first assumption!

Yeah sry, firedragon is the default Garuda browser so I thought it’s obvious

I initially thought that…but then you could technically install any browser you wanted, right ?

I logged into twitch (not a user), and my initial thoughts were that you would probably need to spoof the UserAgent. Just a hunch.

A quick check with the current UserAgent for FireFox failed though ;(

I tried spoofing to Chrome manually and with extension - nothing.

I have things going on today, but if noone else does it, maybe their method of checking is visible in the javascript (or whatever they use)…I’ll see what I can find later.
Unfortunately, as YouTube has shown, it can be a losing chase.

A reboot is pending after a system update, just in case.

Twitch will complain even if you input random garbage on the text fields and press enter. It seems like Amazon just doesn’t like Firedragon.

Floorp does login just fine tho :T

I think this has to do with the FireDragon user agent pretending to be on Windows.

Can you please try setting general.useragent.override to Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0 in about:config?

Might require clearing the cookies and site data for Twitch.

If you turn of most of the privacy settings it works fine. but at that point just keep floorp for twitch an odd sites an firedragon for normal browsing. As this still happens in librewolf/tor its purely theses websites wanting data to scrape.

Just changing the useragent and restarting Firedragon does work. I think I’ll still keep on Floorp for easy access to two windows on boot until you maybe (or maybe not, I’m not a FD dev) implement multiwindow profiles that work flawlessly :3

Yes, I am that lazy, judge me.

@tbg I think you should probably just get Chat-GPT to do the essay for you. (if you’re like me, that pushes a button)

maybe give this extension a try you could probably set it to just 2 profiles Chameleon – Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

I have it set to only show up as newer firefox on all 3 OS’s

You’re a genius. I tried to set it to linux with extension but it didn’t work, but doing it manually worked. Thanks.
