Xdg-open opens three tabs in opera

The issue is that when I execute xdg-open https://google.com it opens three tabs in opera when opera is already running. This does not happen when opera is not running. Then it just opens the browser and opens the tab as expected.
The three tabs are all of the same URL. Can someone help me with this issue?

I tried to test if the same would occur if I would use chromium. When executing BROWSER=chromium xdg-open https://google.com it opens a tab in opera and one in chromium. If opera is not yet running it just opens one in opera.

Oh sorry, I was editing the description at the same time as you did. And I didn't see that you changed the topic.

Just to confirm it's not your issue only, nor Garuda-specific:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=282917
But unfortunately there was no solution...
The problem seems to be in Opera.
