Wrong swap info

Hi all,

I have a fresh installation of KDE.
Manual partitions


I set for swap partitions 12 GB, as it shows in Gparted.
but in System info it shows 17.7 GB.

Did I missed something or it is ok ?

Is this ok ? Should I try new installation but with less swap ? I am totally confused ,hehe

All fine, if possible buy more RAM :slight_smile:

Nope, not possible. I need to buy new laptop than, because 8 gb is max for this laptop, unfortunately

No.

You have 12GB swap on the physical disk.

You have another 6GB of “virtual” swap within RAM.

The RAM-based “virtual” swap is used first and so helps keep paging away from the disk-based swap.

Having the disk-based swap is a good thing as it allows old pages to be swapped to disk, provides extra capacity, and allows you to hibernate your PC.
