Would I need a new motherboard to run Garuda?

Hello, I’m planning to run Garuda on my new computer build, however I’m not sure what motherboard would work good with Garuda. I currently have a Gigabyte B550 AMD motherboard on my list, but I’m not sure if I need to change it. I made my new build under the assumption that Linux (and it’s distros) work with any piece of hardware.

This confuses me.

I put together a new AMD system last year with no problems.
The newer, the more problems may occur though. But do not have to.

We make here but no purchase advice, what if one writes here, everything fine and then it does not work for you?

Ask the manufacturer if it is Linux compatible, buy where you have a right of exchange. Start a search on whoogle for “your” hardware, that’s what we all do here.

It is unlikely your motherboard will be an issue. Boot a live session and see if it works. :slightly_smiling_face:
