Hi community,
recently I had to switch my router, and since then, I'm having problems with Wi-Fi connection.
When I connect to the Wi-Fi, in Network Manager I can see speed up to 700 kbps, which is slowly dropping to zero. Immediately after connecting, I can load a webpage, but after that, nothing loads. Sometimes, after 5 minutes of loading, the webpage will load. I have tested it with two different routers, TP-Link and Mikrotik (Mikrotik is what I use now), and the problem is same on both. When using hotspot from my iPhone, everything is working correctly. I have performed full system update today and restarted the computer, the problem still persists.
One thing these two routers have in common is that they are using same SSID for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, which the previous router did not. In TP-Link I think it's called Smart Connect, in Mikrotik you just set up same SSID for both bands. I don't have any problems with this setup on Windows, iPhone, my girlfriends Android phone and tablet, Smart TV and various smart home Wi-Fi enabled devices. I have also tried to setup BSSID in Network Manager to use the 5GHz band, which shows at 100% signal strength. Wired connection is working without problem, there are no configuration errors in the Wi-Fi setup (DHCP is enabled, IP is obtained). I am also unable to ping anything, out of 100 pings sent to Google DNS only 1/10 are returned.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
