Wireless Interface (wlp3s0 down) borked by VPN uninstall

Happy New Year Garuda gods & realm dwellers.

Kindly note the affected computer is offline so details are copy-pasted from the other machine. Formatting may not be as desired.

After a brief but failed experiment using Mullvadvpn that started well but turned out to be ill-fated, I can no longer open the network connection after uninstalling the vpn pkg.

I tried a few suggestions found in previous relevant posts, but still not getting anywhere. I also got btrfs errors trying to roll back to a previous image (I don’t know how to get to a snapshot older than 1 week old if it exists)

As advised by @Yada in a now closed similar troubleshooting issue, I restarted systemd-resolved, flushed the resolvectl flush-caches, and got errors trying to restart the dnsmasq:

Job for dnsmasq.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See β€œsystemctl status dnsmasq.service” and β€œjournalctl -xeu dnsmasq.service” for details.

That is as far as I got so far.

I still have my live usb so perhaps it is easier to try to reinstall garuda???

Thanks if anyone can advise the best way out of this! :pray:t3: :pray:t3: :pray:t3:

p.s. I also tried rolling back to an older cached version of networkmanager but that also didn’t work.

Okay finally SOLVED it very easily by deleting the network connection from the network manager. :innocent:

Leaving this post intact in case someone else faces this.

P.s. Mullvad vpn installed easily and worked well until I made the mistake of turning on the β€œbecome notified of beta program updates” and mullvad said they only support a certain arch distro that is not garuda. They also said the update notification should not have affected anything. However I had already noticed that updates executed automatically in the past. (those not related to Beta editions worked without incident although the updating itself took the vpn offline during the process)

P.s.s. In the meantime, someone has published a new pvpn suite on AUR!
