So i have removed networkmanager-fortisslvpn forcefully and updated my system without issue but when i rebooted I had no internet connection and it turns out wireguard on Private Internet Access Broke but i can use OpenVPN just fine. Im using PIA downloaded from their website ‘pia-linux-3.3.1-06924.run’

Edit: Also unchecking Use Kernel Module in PIA makes no difference.

I can use a snapshot and go back in time and wireguard works again, but as soon as i update it breaks again.

Even though the package is no longer in arch repos, You can still pull the it from AUR using paru and compile and use it. The problem is it has no maintainer as of now so you might still be unable to update and use it in future.

paru -S networkmanager-fortisslvpn-git

The update removed the PIA file /etc/iproute2/rt_tables
Boot from a restore point, copy the file above somewhere safe.
Update again, restore the copied file.
PIA fixed.

Thank you so much! It worked! But as a follow up question, I only backed up and restored the rt_tables file as suggested and restored it but the ownership of the iproute2 folder changed to root and i had to take ownership of it and basically all of the files in the folder were gone after the update, i only had a rt.tables.pacsave file.

Should i have backed up the entire folder or just the rt_tables file? I mean it works again but missing files scare me lol. Thanks again!

I also noticed the other missing files in the folder but have had no issues since.
Don’t worry about it.
