Try the "Format through terminal" method mentioned in the following link:

Here it is used to format pen-drive. You can try the same method to format the disk partition.

Hi @Dave271920, welcome.

Can you be more specific about what you are experiencing?

I understand you are trying to format a hard drive in KDE partition. Is it a separate drive from the one you have Garuda installed to? Can you see the drive? Is it mounted? Is it accessible?

What do you mean by that? Are you getting an error message, or it isn’t an available option, or what?

Please edit your post and include output of garuda-inxi. Highlight and press Ctrl+E to convert to preformatted text.

hi yes it is a separate drive from the one i have garuda installed ,i can see the drive and i have the old things from windows on it but i cant delete anything from it,and actually i dont really know how to format a drive with kde

Windows uses the NTFS filesystem, which is compatible with Linux in a limited way and requires special handling. That might explain why you are having trouble. If you would like to learn more about how to interact with NTFS on Linux, I recommend reading through this article: NTFS-3G - ArchWiki

Post the output of lsblk -f. Also please don't forget to edit your first post to include your garuda-inxi because the output contains a lot of information specifically helpful for troubleshooting.

EDIT

Is formatting the drive what you want to do? The data currently on the drive will be lost if it is re-formatted.
