Windows Partitions Fat32 or NTFS break after system freezes or screens go black to due static electricity or power interruption when using Steam (tested multiple times)

Encrypted bitlocker paritions turn into basic partitions & no longer are accessible sometimes for no reason at all.

Error:

An error occurred while accessing 'Basic data partition', the system responded: The requested operation has failed: Error mounting /dev/dm-1 at /run/media/fe90iopjkfe/SteamOffline: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mapper/bitlk-211e2486-1f79-4d5a-b50f-ff990ad06c12, missing codepage or helper program, or other error

Much appreciated

That looks like a Mini-ITX desktop, meaning it should be in a case that is grounded, and ESD should be a rare problem, even if you regularly zap the case or USB peripherals. If you have a bad ground, that’s a potentially bigger problem, and should be fixed in the building itself.

Seems like checking out your grounds may be in order, and possibly adding a UPS, if power failures are a regular thing.

Use the forum search, your keyword is ntfsfix.

Also, we do not recommend using NTFS partitions excessively on Linux. Do this at your own risk.

Created a BTRFS partition with LUKS2 which is not not available as an option.

This partition is not readable by Steam Client.

This partition is also not able to be deleted.

Happened in another case with another board as well and it is not often.

A correctly mounted and decrypted BTRFS partition should also be readable by steam without any problems. And if not, then use ext4.
EDIT: Oh, you mean steam on windows…I misunderstood that^^.

The very first step should be to ensure that you have a stable system. Then you won’t have the problem that a mounted NTFS partition is not unmounted correctly.

Have you tried ntfsfix?
