NOte - I can install packages

Sometimes the connectivity check goes offline for a while, or perhaps the address that is checked is being blocked for some reason.

But i can't update the system aswell it is giving my network unreachable but i can install individual packages.

error: failed to retrieve mirrorstatus data: URLError: <urlopen error [Errno 101] Network is unreachable>

I am getting little bit of speed readings in the status bar like 80Bytes per second which is really slow.

Did you enter upd or update in terninal.

Try reinstalling networkmanager-qt

This does not look like a system network problem. Check and merge pacnew files. Manually configure your mirrorlists.
