Why is ak_gh the default region format for Ghana

This is not a technical assistance question but a but why issue, why is a date and calendar format for a language, maybe 40 % of the population speak and like 10% can read and write, the default and not just British English?

Where is it the standard format?

By the way, if you use Garuda, post the output of garuda-inxi, we ask for it in all categories.

in the install it defaults to ak_gh.utf8 so i had to switch and was just curious as to why that was the default

Ok, you mean the calamares installer. Best is to ask on github about.
