White/Black Screen on Live CD / Current Install

Weird scenario with fresh install of Garuda Linux Dragonized Edition.

I created a fresh USB live CD with latest dragonize formatted with RUFUS on my Windows OS.

When I enter the LIVE CD, it throws me in a white screen with the mouse cursor, if I open a TTY with CTRL+ALT+F2, garuda flashes in the background then the TTY opens. If I got back to the white screen, and press shortcuts (for example open the file manager), if I go to tty2 then I see it open during a couple of secs and white screen with mouse it is. So it looks everything is working on the background its just being covered by a white overlay ?

I tried downloading the sway version of garuda (to see if it was xorg issue) and I was able to get to the calamares instalation, and it then complained about not being able to mount something (I didnt try figuring exactly what was wrong in this scenario, but it kinda proved what I mean).

My CPU is 7950x, and I am trying to use the integrated GPU.

With my dedicated GPU, Dragonize works properly, but I need the Dedicated GPU in another machine right now .

Any ideas on what to look out for? Do I need some weird drivers for the AMD RAPHAEL iGPU ?

Try ventoy.net, its easier and work. Check sha sum.
Post your garuda-inxi from live ISO.

I read that before, doing startX throws a few error messages:
Depending on either I am on live CD or my current install:

  • xterm not found
  • twm not found

sadly none of that helped out, I am currently in/out trying solution online. I am going to see if using Ventoy makes a difference.

Trying to figure out a way to get that posted here, since the only thing I got is tty there

Perfect, meanwhile my situation changed a bit, I managed to install the SWAY version of Garuda, but I am getting similar behaviour in some situations. If I open a video in youtube in fullscreen my display goes white and flickers, there are some other odities, like opening some apps makes the screen go white and then I need to force close them.

This is the output of the current installed Sway version. There is a 4090RTX in there, but I dont want to use that one - which currently it isnt.

First World Problem

Change to LTS kernel, or wait, CPU is very new

BTW, post also from Sway, but garuda-inxi, there are more informations.

Yeah, pretty much first world problem, was just trying to set it up. The Inxi I posted was from SWAY version. Trying to figure out if I can sort this somehow.

Just out of curiosity, I saw that kernel 6.1 > would support the 7950x IGpu, or did I misread that? It looks like I have v 6.2 instaled.
