Weird and loud noise when trying to use 7.1 headphones

Hi, so I recently bought laptop and installed garuda. Now I’m trying to use my headphones(arctis nova pro wireless) using 7.1, but I don’t have this option in settings. When i click on 5.1 setting, suddenly the only thing i can hear is very loud noise that makes my ears ring. Can someone help me with this?

The arctis nova pro wireless has no support for true Surround Sound. Their Windows Software has “simulated” Surround Sound, which is not what this option you have found is. That option is for true Surround Sound.

Then, should I just use the stereo mode or there is some other option that would be able to simulate surround sound?

Stereo mode is going to be the most sound accurate even on Windows, usually.

I believe there are softwares that can do this simulation on Linux, but I’m no expert on this.
