Does anyone else have problems getting live install ISOs of most Arch based distros to boot in a VMware virtual machine (my host is Windows)?
Virtualbox works but performance and scaling for most Linux distros isn't quite as good as VMware.
I have tried every imaginable combo of settings. I haven't been able to get any edition of Garuda or Manjaro live to boot in VMware.
I LOVE Garuda and want to get it set up just right in a VM before installing to bare metal. It is somewhat resource heavy so I was hoping to do set it up in VMware for the better performance.
When booting it always gets stuck at "A start job is running for livemedia MHWD script".
My guess would be that I need to edit something in GRUB boot but I've never done that before and not sure what to do.
Why?
A virtual machine won’t give you an accurate picture of how Garuda works, and a variety of software won’t even run.
If you want to get a feel for Garuda then boot it from a USB flash drive, and if you want a “trial” version then install it to a USB disk.

Our distro is optimized for performance on real hardware. Installing in virtual machines is not recommended as it might result in a bad experience!
