soo, I need some virtual machine for windows for school, so I simply selected all 4 that are in garuda assistant . I got this while trying to install:
Preparing setup..
[sudo] password for honza:
Installing packages..
resolving dependencies...
:: There are 3 providers available for VIRTUALBOX-HOST-MODULES:
:: Repository extra
1) virtualbox-host-dkms 2) virtualbox-host-modules-arch 3) virtualbox-host-modules-lts
Enter a number (default=1):
I forgot to copy it, but when I selected 2, it told me that packages 1 and 2 are in conflict and something about unresolvable conflict/dependencies (idk which one). Why? Afaik I don’t have virtualbox installed and also didn’t find it while pressing Meta and searching virtual/virtualbox
Can it be because of the “check and merge” in my issue ? I swear I’ll try to solve it asap but school doesn’t give me much time…
hi,
please post your garuda-inxi too for Assisrance.
You should not select all 4 it will not work it says default 1 and should work. if any other problem post there output here too

Please follow the topic template and post your garuda-inxi.
There are not 4 but 6 options. What exactly did you select in Garuda Assistant ?
As long as you cannot install one of the 3 packages offered without errors, virtualbox will not be installed either.
Try again:
sudo pacman -S virtualbox
and select 1 (virtualbox-host-dkms).

Is there a setting in the BIOS that allows virtualization?

No, the arch one is for the linux kernel, not for the zen one that you use.
You have to choose option 1.

That’s not the Garuda Assistant , it’s the Garuda Setup Assistant. You should also decide what you want to install. If you want virtualbox:
btw: the output of garuda-inxi should only contain this output, and not the fastfetch stuff. I feel like I’ve edited your garuda-inxi 10 times in the last 2 weeks.

I use Garuda here too, but I prefer QEMU/KVM myself, and I use this SysGuides tutorial to remind me how to properly create a VM. Additionally, I use this tutorial to properly install and set up QEMU/KVM for the same reasons too.
I hope this helps,
Ernie
