Videos not working in chromium

hi! I started using Garuda Linux dr460nized edition 2 months ago on a new pc build and videos are not playing on youtube or disneyplus in the chromium browser. I believe this problem started after I installed a wireless network driver (broadcom-wl).

measures taken:
-ran the usual sudo update
-I use pulseaudio bc of OBS, I tried switching to pipewire support in Garuda Assistant System Components but no dice
-I enabled the chromium flag "hardware accelerated video decode" - also no dice

thank you for your help, I'm loving Garuda so far <3

Hi there, welcome!
Careful, it looks like you booted into a snapshot

You should confirm the restore from the snapper GUI in the Garuda Assistant, then reboot.
If you’ll still experience troubles with videos, maybe you could check this solution:

I'll mark it as solved for the future users ending up here in their searches.
Was it only a matter of restore or applying the fix?
