USB Audio Codec Microphone Volume Too Low

I have an ANT Usb Dual Pre as pre-amp for input and output. I could get the microphone to work, but the volume is WAY too low. I also tested it on Windows and it works fine there.

One strange thing. When I click on Audio icon, on the device, the "additional options" button.

If it's set to "Analog Stereo Duplex", then the output works but not the input.

If it's set to "Digital Stereo Duplex (UEC958)", then the input works (low volume) but not the output.

If it's set to "Analog Stereo Duplex + Digital Stereo Duplex (UEC958)", then the input works (low volume) but trying to output YouTube video jams the playback.

So... there's definitely a microphone volume problem, but there's also a deeper problem. Is it simply unsupported hardware? Any solution?

Open Pulse Audio volume control, and in configuration, change profile to something like headset unit, if you want to use mic. Also, in input tab, you can check input volume level and adjust it there only. Also refer for more information.

Headset unit isn't in the profiles list. There's a mix of Analog, Digital and Surround, and Pro Audio. Volume is 100% of course, and I could also raise maximum volume to 150% but that's not enough.

Crazy-long page... luckily I have another pre-amp recorder and that one worked just fine.

Would be nice if things worked better out-of-the box.

If you added the `ignore_dB=1` option earlier to the `load-module module-udev-detect` line in your `/etc/pulse/default.pa`, try removing it.

I could try that when I have the time; trying to get some video done on Linux.

Right, best start fixing this.
