Update wants to install mesa-tkg-git?

Hello.

today I ran pacman -Suy and then it complained about a lot of conflicts with mesa-tkg-git... Why does it want to install mesa-tkg-git? (it was not yet installed)... not sure I want to install mesa-tkg-git at all, tbh...
In fact just answering yes to all question even fails... so something is broken with updates on my system, currently, it seems... :frowning:

Also I did try update which helped a bit in the past (but takes more time, so I always try it second  ) but it did not change anything this time (only it was sure to uninstall xcursor-sweet, which I don't mind).

Btw: Is there a way to know of such changes? Like a news feed somewhere where devs will post if a package is replaced or something needs to be done during update?

Ok, solved my issue myself, it seems...

Problem is:
garuda-video-config depends on opencl-mesa (specific this package). I blacklisted opencl-mesa, because opencl-mesa crashes my system as soon as any opencl application is run (I can 100% reproduce that, if anybody wants to look into fixing opencl-mesa or can give me a hint where to put that information).

So I tried to add opencl-mesa to pacman IgnorePKGs configuration, which kind of works, but since garuda-video-config requires opencl-mesa (and not opencl-driver, which is provided by opencl-amd on my system and system is stable and working with it) it searches other packages for that and mesa-tkg-git provices opencl-mesa, too... hmpf...

So I temporarily removed opencl-mesa from ignored packages. did the update and uninstalled opencl-mesa after that.

Not sure if there is a better solution... Maybe garuda-video-config could be less strict about opencl-mesa?

Should really be doing that first. It takes more time for good reason

Iā€™m not sure why OpenCL is needed by default. Who is the garuda-video-config maintainer?

not sure what opencl-mesa is good for.... with opencl-mesa installed I can crash my system 100% certain running libreoffice with opencl enabled and also BOINC will report calculation errors. With opencl-amd both issues don't show up.

So at least for vega 10 opencl-mesa seems to be a bad choice. Maybe garuda-video-config could depend on opencl-driver instead of opencl-mesa? opencl-driver is satisfied by opencl-mesa and opencl-amd.
