Uncontrollable scrolling to the bottom on font selection window

I can’t figure out what is causing this to happen, and I’ve searched for nearly every keyword related to my issue that I can think of and still nothing. When i’m in a setup or configure window and I’m trying to choose a font type, the system will let me preview about 8-9 options and then it’ll automatically skip down 1-2 choices. That’s kind of my ‘warning’. Then, after another 2-3 previews it’ll just all of a sudden haul butt and start scrolling by itself and not stop until it reaches the bottom of the list. Once it gets there, it relinquishes autopilot and I’m free to continue my search until another handful of fonts are previewed. It’ll do this regardless of what I’m using at the moment to scroll through the list and so far, it’s only occurring on the font lists. Thankfully, whichever font was the last one I selected before it becomes possessed doesn’t change so at least I don’t lose my place. Also, it will do this behavior despite whichever program I’m in at the time and I’ve double checked that nothing is accidentally lodged against a control surface nor do I have any keys or buttons that are stuck down by debris.

Without further information about your system, such as which desktop enviroment you are using, no one can do anything with this.
