Unable to start Chrome

Brand new to Linux, I’m sure this is entirely my fault.

Chrome just quit working on me today. I installed about half a dozen web apps using the built in Web Apps tool yesterday, everything was working well. Booted today, and chrome won’t start. Uninstalled all web apps, tried many reinstalls, checked all deps. Chromium also wouldn’t start, although now it works fine after a few reboots, reinstalls, and updates.

Other browsers working fine - typing this on Brave.

At first it would load for a while and then quit; now it does literally nothing when I try to open chrome.

Getting this error when I try to run it in terminal:

chrome_crashpad_handler: --database is required

Windows dual boot: Probably (Run as root to verify)

It is a Windows dual boot, if that helps at all, although they’re on 2 separate SSDs.

Wouldn’t even bother with Chrome, I love Brave, but I have 2 separate Workspace accounts and my life is much easier with multiple Chrome profiles.

As per this forum:Ubuntu 21.10 Chrome wont open - Ask Ubuntu

Delete the google-chrome folder at .config/google-chrome in your home directory and probably it will function fine again
