Unable to send a composed message in Evolution

As many of you, I have been using Evolution as my preferred e-mailclient.

For most of my e-mails, I use my Office365 account. Originally, I used a “work-around” to configure the account as an Microsoft Exchange account.

Recently, after an update that configuration stopped working, but I found a new server type I could use: microsoft 365.

At first, everything looked OK, but then I found I could no longer send e-mails. Whenever I tried sending an e-mail I got the following error message:

Error message

It didn’t matter which account I wanted to use, I kept on running into the message. The only way I could send a mail is by sending it without an attachment and as pure text.

Since I had been playing around with my installation, I assumed I ■■■■ed something up, and decided to reinstall my laptop. There had been several things that started to bother me, so…

But now, after reinstallation, and having only configured 1 account I still get the message…

Anyone here any idea?

I was able to configure this in Evolution as a microsoft 365 server type. Everything seems to be OK, but for whatever reason I’m no longer able to send e-mails.

Whenever I try, I get the following error message:
