The drive mounts normally on Windows and Mint with no issue.
I have been able to mount it using
sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda2 /mnt/ntfs-broken
But this of course is not a long term solution.
I have ran:
sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda2
Which seemed to complete successfully
Mounting volume... OK
Processing of $MFT and $MFTMirr completed successfully.
Checking the alternate boot sector... OK
NTFS volume version is 3.1.
Going to un-mark the bad clusters ($BadClus)... No bad clusters...OK
NTFS partition /dev/sda2 was processed successfully.
And I’m all out of ideas.
I began running chkdsk repair on windows, but it will take 10 hours for this 10TB drive, and in any case as said it is working normally on both Windows and Mint so think there must be some simpler solution.
Thanks
