Unable to install freerdp

Hello,

I removed freerdp after getting:
could not satisfy dependencies:

  • unable to satisfy dependency ‘libavcodec.so=60-64’ required by freerdp
  • unable to satisfy dependency ‘libavutil.so=58-64’ required by freerdp
  • unable to satisfy dependency ‘libswresample.so=4-64’ required by freerdp
  • unable to satisfy dependency ‘libswscale.so=7-64’ required by freerdp

so the updates could be installed. I tried to install freerdp back with following result:

# pacman -S freerdp

:: ffmpeg-2:6.1.1-7 and ffmpeg-git-6.2.r114376.g316239096b-1 are in conflict

but none of the options allows me to get freerdp back. How to get freerdp working again?

after fixing logrotate.service and logrotate.timer problem with installing freerdp remains.

If you want to proceed with the installation, you need to accept the replacement. It looks like you just pressed Enter, which in this case is responding to the prompt with “no” (the capitalized letter indicates what will be the default selection).

Hey all,

I had the same problem.
Trying to launch xfreerdp in a console, told me i had to install freerdp2.
Now it works again.
:hugs:

here is the output:

It worked! Got RDP back.

Thank all of you guys for help. Switching from mpv-full-git to mpv-full resolved my problem.

Glad to hear it. :slightly_smiling_face:

For the benefit of future readers: just installing mpv-full and accepting the replacements would be a much safer way to do this.

pacman -Rcns should basically never be used unless you want to do something really aggressive like uninstall a whole desktop environment or something. It can very easily snowball into a huge package list.

We always mark here the solution and not the implementation.

I fixed it.

Thanks for fixing it.
