Unable to change video output (Dr460nized on Asus ROG Zephyrus AMD ed.)

I’ll preface this by saying that I don’t know if the problem is software at the distro level or at the desktop environment level.

I use a ROG Zephyrus with an external monitor and, having found a usb-c hub, with HDMI video output, that is better than the one I am currently using, I decide to buy it… the problem is that it is impossible for me to replace it: if I try to use the new hub, the monitor is not recognized, same thing trying to connect the monitor directly with the HDMI output of the notebook, which before could be done and which, indeed I used to do often because after two out of three hibernations the monitor was not recognized through that hub (this is a false problem for me).
Now, I don’t know if there have been two or three weeks since I had last used the external monitor by connecting it directly to the notebook (without a hub) and when I tried to connect it with the new hub.
It is quite important for me to use the new hub (which I premise, works, tried on another notebook) especially since it has charging via usb c and has the number of ports I need for my workflow.
