This is a known issue with the wlroots DEs.

Qt apps does not work after fresh install

The problem is that sway requires special handling to run Qt applications as root and Btrfs Assistant doesn't doing anything special for sway. There is an open issue for it but nobody has proposed a viable solution yet.

A workaround for now is to run from the terminal:

sudo -E btrfs-assistant-bin
