It says its an aur or something. I did get it to install, but no gui. Could anyone point me to where I can find how to install GUI?

Thank you

Did you check out the ArchWiki? NordVPN - ArchWiki

It suggest to install nordvpn-gui - which is also in the AUR. If you use paru or yay - you can easily just use paru -S nordvpn-gui and it will find and install the package from the AUR repo.

Edit: as per the wiki, don’t forget, you need to add your user to the nordvpn user group. So, in order to do that, enter this in your shell: sudo usermod -aG $USER nordvpn. After your user has the new group added, you need to log out and log back in for the change to take effect.

Ok, I will try this, but I am currently trying to find the syntax to delete the version of nord I did get that has no gui.

Thank you

You need nordvpn-bin to use nordvpn-gui.

Yo…you clearly didn’t read the wiki link I sent. You don’t need to delete that version, as it’s part of the core function of NordVPN, you can optionally install the GUI as an add-on to help you use the software.

However, for reference, the syntax to remove a package and all it’s dependencies that aren’t used by other software is: paru -Rns [package-name]. Do not delete the nordvpn package you installed, the GUI will need it installed for it to work. Unlike WindBlowz, the gui and core software are decoupled.
