Very frustrated. i had two gaming editions running, one from last years November installation, and one from April this year.

Both crashed after updating and will no longer boot. And now my new installation, with the latest Garuda Gaming edition, also crashed after updating after the first boot up. Which went fine.

As the update was progressing it flashed a error message about the nvidia drivers not being installed rightly into the kernel, after which it promptly crashed my computer. and only restoring a snap shot could get Garuda up and running again.

What could be the matter?

You should check the logs.
This is just an example of what could happen.

Not only anaconda (and indirectly gcc) could be causing the error, of course.
Hopefully the logs will help you.
