TLP not changing to battery mode

I am trying to set up tlp, but when I disconnect my laptop from ac power, the mode is set to “unknown” for some reason. Even though it identifies the power source to be the battery.

My tlp-stat -s when my laptop is using battery power is below:

My system does properly switch to AC mode when I connect the laptop to wall power, as shown below:

It'd probably be helpful to post /etc/tlp.conf
I'm on desktop so can't help, but I expect that'll be required by those who can help.

For some reason, the issue is still persisting. It still reads the mode as unknown even after reboots.

I have come across something similar. For me, I have to unplug the power cord and then it switches to battery mode. Switches to performance mode when I plug the cord back in.

However, it doesn't do this automatically, especially if I do this while the lid is closed and then open the lid/laptop to turn on, it will still be on the wrong mode. :man_shrugging:

That was probably why the issue fixed itself at the time. Right now, I am going through a myriad of issues on top of this, so I will probably have to spend some time tomorrow to either try to get all my problems fixed, or to try to switch to another distro or something and hope it is an easier time there.
