Hey together,
I randomly found something called “Adie” on my computer and I didn’t know where it came from. I was vary about it, because of trojanware and such, and it was not too easy to ask the Internet. It turned out to be a text editor, “Advanced Interactive Editor”, being a bit more advanced than GEdit.
I would myself consider VSCode – that I am using – more advanced than Adie. VSCode is from Microsoft (and unfortunately, important Microsoft extensions such as for Python or C# only have worked with the Microsoft version). Adie is probably non-commercial and comes with a GPL. However, looking at features and usability in comparison, I found no need for Adie.
I couldn’t find “adie” in pacman’s package information and found no package name that contains “adie”.
I figured out, the organization or person behind goes by FOX-Toolkit. So I drew the conclusion to search after “fox”.
Solution
The package which contains Adie is called “fox”. It describes itself as GUI Toolkit in C++. I could uninstall it with bauh without getting any dependency conflicts.

I don’t really know where it came from. I first suspected, I could have selected it at my Garuda installation without knowing what it was but it’s a package from “extra”.
I hope, this helps others who find it and try search the web for how to remove it.
Keep healthy and safe!
