Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been using garuda linux and have encountered and terminated a lot of issues with the help of this forum, but the current issue I'm facing doesn't seem to appear with a lot of people on the forum and hence I have not been able to find any solution. The problem is that after a recent update, my terminal which should normally look similar to

That is the OS is changed to arch linux and moreover the splash screen too shows the boot os as arch linux. I know that garuda is based on arch but this was not the default appearance of the terminal and I liked that one better. the output of garuda-inxi is pasted below.

Try this:

# pacman -S garuda-hooks

I'm not sure how this happened, but hey.

Thanks a lot!!! that worked. Also would you mind explaining what this command did?

It installed garuda-hooks, which also are used to alter the file providing the distro's information (which is in possession of Arch).

It reinstalled the garuda-hooks package. Usually reinstalling stuff on Linux does nothing, because everything installed by the package manager is somewhat intended to be immutable, but this package specifically has so called "pacman hooks" that are only run when the package is installed or other specific packages are installed.

So, in this case, all hooks were re-executed to reset the arch default /etc/os-release file.
