The Gnome's Search Locations option is grayed out

Hey, folks

I recently installed Garuda Gnome, and I’m loving it so far!
The only issue that bothers me (and that I cannot find the answer to) is the Gnome search.
The search location option is grayed out, and I can’t enable any folder in it or search for any files with the search function (super key + typing the file name).

Here’s what it looks like -

Any suggestions?

You need to install tracker3-miners. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GNOME#Search

sudo pacman -S tracker3-miners

Probably it should be installed in the ISO by default. :eyes: I’ll take a look later if I get a chance and see about getting it added to the default package list.

In the future, please include the output of garuda-inxi for all topics in the Issues & Assistance category as requested in the topic template. In this case the inxi output was not needed to solve the issue, but we still ask that it is always added so there is a consistent baseline of information for helpers to troubleshoot issues with.

That absolutely did the trick! Thank you so much!

Yeah, I also think it should be installed by default.

Sorry, I’m not used to posting on these kinds of forums. I’ll definitely do that in some of the future posts.
