Systemctl --user daemon-reload?

I’m getting the following error in the terminal after an upgrade…

Warning: The unit file, source configuration file or drop-ins of garuda-fish-completions-update.service changed on disk. Run ‘systemctl --user daemon-reload’ to reload units.

…I’ve tried and failed to run ‘systemctl --user daemon-reload’ with the following…

sudo systemctl --user daemon-reload
[sudo] password for colin:
Failed to connect to bus: No medium found

How is this done?

Don’t sudo methinks. It’s --user not --system.

systemctl --user daemon-reload

Apart from sudo (systemctl ask for, if needed) I saw no difference.

It seems to have worked - I ran update again and I didn’t get the warning.

I’m somewhat baffled as I tried this previously in a different terminal, but it made no difference. Maybe it’s because the second attempt was done on a terminal that used fish whereas the first didn’t.

Thanks for the help.

Just as a footnote, the warning hasn’t disappeared, but since it isn’t causing me any problems I’m not worrying about it.
