So my situation is very simple… I do garuda-update --aur, it goes through compiling 63,000 processes of Ungoggled Chromium, then one third of the way through the update…my system just turns it self off. No warning, no notice that it’s coming, just poof off my system goes.

It sounds like it might be time to put Ungoogled Chromium in Chaotic-aur :sunglasses:

Yes, it is really a behemoth to compile (18+hours on one of my older notebooks back when I was using Gentoo). I’ll see whether we can re-add it.

Thank you very much. Also, I have a PC with an N100 processor in it…it took 2 days to compile it and install it and it system got so hot I was wondering if there would be damage to it :sunglasses:

What exactly is better about this browser compared to Firedragon?

I have oddly enough encountered websites like in banking and my university work were sometimes browsers like firefox, librewolf or firedragon don’t respond well to specific sites. Sometimes the brave browser jams on me in unusual ways leaving me to work with ungoogled chromium.

FireDragon sadly can’t play DRM protected content as this requires purchasing a license. That being said, other forks like Floorp also suffer from this issue… but in this case ungoogled chromium won’t help :joy:

This is probably due to the settings, but you can change them.

I have never been able to find out what settings in these browsers are causing the issues I have. Just using a different browser often does the job

I forgot to mention, if you re-add ungoogled chromium, will you please post notice of it?

In the last few years, while trying to book flights, I can not get an airline website to work properly on any firefox based browser anymore.

You can kind of search but when it actually comes time to book, I get an error or license thing, or like infinite refresh.

So every once in a while I need to use something chromium based which is sad. For me though, airlines are the only one for some reason.

I’m carious to know why this is the case. Any ideas? Or is it the way the website is itself?

I would guess some security or telemetry thing that is missing from firefox. Like, it must be a chrome browser, and there’s something it l it must look for to proceed?

I have no idea. But I know I can’t book in Delta, American airlines or spirit in firefox. I get to a point and I can’t proceed.

I can search no problem. But, even if I’m logged in, I can’t proceed to finish at some point. I always need to go back to a chrome based browser to actually do the final steps. I have no idea why exactly though.

What about using M$ Edge?

Ha ha, just kidding, I’ll never be that desperate to go on vacation. :face_vomiting:

Is there a Linux version of Edge?

Yes, there is :eyes:
