"System Settings" app under KDE

Hello,

I assure you I have done my searches and not come up with anything pertinent, so!

Basically my issue is that if I ever fire up the ‘System Settings’ app, it comes up with the ‘Close’ window decoration disabled, and no ‘Quit’ or ‘Exit’ option on the main menu, and it is basically impossible to get rid of other than just minimising it.

I would love to learn how to fix this!

I’ve noticed a few similar glitches from the latest official dr460nized edition. Borders & buttons may be lacking for non-Garuda applications such as QTWebflix, which uses normal window framing in all respects in Arch, but not Garuda. It has been better-handled in earlier editions of Garuda. I suspect rapidly-changing KDE.

Rant:
I suspect we (KDE aficionados) will be experiencing–um, don’t know the politically correct words–a lot more than a few little glitches during & after the transition.

Everybody says different–that this KDE transition will be different, much smoother, much easier than every major chord of KDE that has gone before.

I call bullshit and I’m not going to be wrong.

Actually, and thanks, that does get rid of it.

I’m still puzzled why it would ‘disable’ the ‘close’ window decoration.

I shall look into the other response which was about messing with ~/.config/kwinrc as well (thanks for that[1]), but not tonight!

The suggested adjustment in ~/.config/kwinrc, if I remember correctly, is aimed to fix only (all) buttons not appearing in maximized windows. This problem might be different.
What theme are you using in Window Decoration? Is the close button appearing in the Titlebar Buttons tab?
