what does it mean and how do I fix it? I have 68.6 GiB free space so this is weird.

Hello @honza! What do you need help with? You will need to free space on your system.

I booted up the computer 15 minutes ago. So there was no open reboot pending.

Same thing I get in RANI(git).

It’s not delayed bro, that means after you sudo pacman -Syu or garuda-update it tells you to reboot so that the update can be applied or you can feel it

Not every update requires a restart. This is especially true if no updates have been performed after a restart and there is nothing to update.

I do that every time I update and it’s safe, it’s probably just a warning to restart if there might be a big update

I reboot more than necessary, but that’s not the point.

This implies that a reboot is necessary due to updates made since the last restart. However, this is not the case.

It’s nothing bro, just ask the founder admin or developer, it’s just a notification if there might be a big update

@TNE @Apocalypticus @DragoniaCompany1 thank you for the answers, but I feel like none of you talked about the - - - HIGH - - - priority issue. Now I see this:

WHAT DOES IT MEAAAAN??? I have more than enough space on my drive :sob: I know that for sure because I can literally download (and then delete) youtube videos now.

Check your / (root) folder with

lsblk - f

The command I devised to display unallocated space is:

btrfs filesystem usage / 2> /dev/null | grep -i 'Device unallocated:' | awk '{print $3}'

You have only 8,5 % free space. (08-10)
That’s the reason why you read this message.
To become more free space clear the cache, your counts of snapshot.
use (example) paccache -vrk3 → that delete all packages inside /var/cache/pacman/pkg except the last 3 from each package.
Move files/folder from your home folder or where ever you store files to another drive (if possible)
You run in trouble if not → soon you won’t even be able to perform an update or the system won’t be able to create a snapshot anymore if you do not generate free space.

You only have 5gb of usable space remaining.

ooh alright thanks I get it now
