Sway logout, black screen and not sddm

As the title states when I logout from Sway I get a black screen which forces me to reboot. Sway can't seem to find SDDM. I have the git version installed. I have both KDE and Sway installed, from a fresh boot I can choose between Sway and KDE. But, if I logout of Sway and try to switch to KDE when I logout it's just a black blank screen. Any advice?

Welcome

I never logged out, I just reboot/restart to get the grub window and change to other DE.

Maybe a translation problem, what do you do exactly?

A friend of mine recently installed the dragonized edition, and they as well as me both faced weird issues with logging out. A lot of weird stuff starts to happen, like sddm not showing, and other stuff when logging back in. I think KDE or SDDM or both don't like when somebody logs out.

Are you logging out via wayland-logout? I have never had issues with it, though I'm using greetd

Yes, I originally installed KDE dragonized ISO. I then added all sway with wayland packages, etc including all the Sway packages that garuda includes with the Sway ISO.

Sway works perfect just like the sway garuda ISO except for when I logout.

I like switching DE's from KDE wayland and Sway. But, when I logout of Sway I get a blank screen and doesn't show SDDM if I want to go back to KDE wayland.

Again for me as a layman, it's not two DE's as dual boot, but a mix of KDE and Sway?

I’m not sure if this will work. SDDM does not fully support Wayland (planned support in upcoming release 0.20: Greeter on Wayland - rebased by aleixpol · Pull Request #1393 · sddm/sddm · GitHub), and Sway does not support login managers at all (https://github.com/swaywm/sway/pull/3634#issuecomment-462779163).

Is it a TTY, or no shell at all? Can you switch to a different TTY?

Did you set up the config for it? SDDM - ArchWiki

I'll try this later on, " Did you set up the config for it? SDDM - ArchWiki"

As of right now if I'm in KDE I can logout and get the SDDM login manager and switch to Sway just fine, it's only if I'm in Sway and logout I get a blank screen.

I've tried to get a command prompt without any luck and I just end up having to do a hard reboot.

I'm new to Sway and use KDE for productivity at the moment, and in my spare time I switch to Sway to learn and eventually go to Sway full time.

Another thing you can try to get this working is just switch from SDDM to Greetd. Greetd works fine with Sway.
