I was out of town for a 8 days and updated right when I got back and then again today. When I went to use the HDMI cord into a TV my laptop completely froze and I had to force a shut down and boot back up again. It took me 3 times before I realized that plugging into the HDMI was causing it but I had a feeling an update after I got back would break my system somehow or another. One thing I did notice is that I still get notification sounds when the screen is frozen from using the HDMI cord but I canât move the mouse or switch windows because everything is frozen and the only way is to force a shut down ):

edits: I tried using a different HDMI cord to a different TV and it still became unresponsive. I hopped on X11 and while it didnât freeze upon sticking the HDMI cord in, it did lock up when I put my laptop screen down after being away for a while. Iâm currently on open source drivers after nvidia had my display stuck at 100% and unresponsive HDMI port among other problems. I did see one troubleshooting thing that told me to update the bios but that might be risky according to this screenshot
I wonder if this could have something to do with it now that I think of it âŚ
I can only hope going off of what I can find that I donât end up having to do a fresh install again
