Stuck at 'initramfs' screen after update

Hello fellow garuda-users!

I'm currently on Garuda dragonized gaming, and I also tried installing the following editions:

  • Garuda KDE Dragonized
  • Garuda Gnome
  • Garuda KDE barebones
  • Garuda Gnome barebones

On all of them I have the same situation: Install goes ok, as soon as I run a pacman -Syyu (even with the setup assistant) I get stuck on the 'initramfs' message and cannot login again. I can't get to tty.
Sometimes I was able to login into a snapshot, but not anymore. (I either get stuck on the same place or receive the 'you need to load kernel first' message). I can chroot from live media.

Searching the web and the forums since monday, what I have tried:

  • Downgrading sddm
  • Testing different kernels (have as main linux-zen - tried skipping the upgrade -, tried also linux-lts)

My hardware is:
Aorus z390 elite master
i9-9900k
gainward phoenix rtx 3060
32gb of ram
i have 2 m2 ssds and 1 sata ssd.

Can anyone help with anything else to try? I don't know what else to do...I'm really not interested in using manjaro and like garuda much more than doing a manual setup on arch.
I can't work without updating the system, because I miss dependencies for code, node, electron. The system works fine until I do a pacman -Syu. Also would be interesting to get it working without resintalling if possible, the machine is fully configured for work already (done that 10 times since monday) and used 2 days straight before not being able to postpone the update.

Hello, same issue for me ...

How much did you wait? Also post inxi here, refer to Reporting bugs | Garuda Linux wiki

And welcome to the community.

Thanks a lot for the support and for the welcoming!
Added the inxi to the original post, so it can be easier for other users to have all the needed information to be able to help!

I waited for 5 minutes most of the times, and keep for something around 20-30min sometimes, no different result.

When I install the system and shutdown/reboot without running 'pacman -Syu', it won't stay for more than 10 seconds on the same screen. Right after GRUB selection i get the stuckness.

I meant “inxi -Fxxxza”

Oh, sorry!
My mistake, wasn't familiarized with inxi. I did it right this time!

Is that working fine without update?

Yes! But I had some apps I couldn't use, like anything related to node or electron...apps that didn't came pre-installed, so the dependencies broke.

Without updates I didn't spend more than 10 seconds on the 'initramfs' message. Always worked succesfully.

Not sure, but try this

Just did that, no difference whatsoever.

The message just changes a little between 'loading initial ramdisk...' and 'initramfs', depending if I'm trying to connect to snapshot or normal boot

You can’t get to a run level 3 prompt from the grub prompt?

This is not going to fix your problem, but it might be a symptom of why you are getting the can’t find a kernel error message. When you restore a timeshift snapshot from the grub boot menu you have to perform further steps.

Once you’ve successfully rebooted into Garuda from your timeshift snapshot, open the timeshift GUI utility. Once in the timeshift GUI program restore the same snapshot that you booted from the grub menu. Then reboot.

None of those tips will fix your underlying issue, but they may help you get things working well enough to figure out what’s causing your problem.

Good luck.

Hi, I was able to get to tty with run level 3,what can I get as information that would help debugging?

Got this running startx on tty
