Hello, I seem to be having a problem with steam and running proton games. The first issue I had with launching games was that all my external drives were owned by root, this was an issue for proton, which refused to touch them as they were not owned by me. I fixed that issue buy reformatting them from NTFS to BTRFS then eventually back to NTFS, which set ownership of them back to me somehow. Now the logs are showing some other issue. I tried using proton 6.19-GE-2 and GE 6.10, those proton versions don't produce any logs at all other then the first 8 lines that identify the software, nothing after. I've reinstalled the game as well as steam which didn't solve anything. The game I'm trying to run is Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which I have 125 hours in solely under Garuda Linux. However, I recently reinstalled Garuda when I upgraded my SSD's and reformatted all of them. I tested installing Fallout NV on my main OS SSD, which launched just fine, then installing it to my 2tb SSD named "QVO", it failed to launch. Ive never had an issue like this with other storage devices before. the logs before I managed to get ownership back to me were short, they said the install location was not owned by me and thats it. Steam has no issue launching Metro 2033, a native Linux game from my QVO drive though. Steam log at the bottom.
